Hi there! I’m Gerald and I am offering you a chance to own my soul. Now I know what you’re saying... how can someone sell his soul.

Let me start by saying this is not a publicity stunt. This is a real contest. The winner of my soul will enter into a binding contract that offers them specific benefits of soul ownership.

It’s really a very simple business proposition that goes something like this:

1. You donate funds for a chance to win my soul. Each dollar donated gets one entry in the drawing. The proceeds go towards helping me change my life. I am also going to use a large portion of the money to start a foundation to try and help people that are suffering from depression. We all have value and it is my hope that through a community effort, we can change the world. All it takes is one idea and one person to believe. I believe.

2. In return for your donations and support, I offer the winner certain rights to various aspects of my life, such as entitlement to a percentage of my taxable income for the rest of my life, the option to decide the names of my kids, sharing in the profits of my endeavors and inheriting a portion of my estate.

There will be a definite winner and that winner will receive among other things:

• A percentage of my taxable income for the rest of my life with a guaranteed minimum of $500.00 per year. Click Here to see a copy of my 2004 W2.
• The right to choose the first name of all of my children. The name has to be gender specific and cannot contain profanity or derogatory words.
• A percentage of profit ownership of any intellectual works that I create.
• The option of planning my wedding, including selecting the date.

I’m sure this seems a bit strange, a person selling his soul like this. However, I can assure you that I am perfectly sane.

Every day people sell their souls for far less than what I am asking for through this website. But rather than sell my soul for a paycheck in corporate America, I am selling my soul to the community, and making a commitment to give back to the community. My life story has been a rocky road but I do not blame anyone. I do not want your pity... I just want to change my life and then pay the help that I have received forward to others.

I am selling my soul so that people can see that they do not need to sell their souls in order to be happy. Let me explain.

Every single day people "sell their souls" for things that make them unhappy. So many people are conditioned that they have to get the best paying job out there, climb the corporate ladder, buy a large house, own two cars, etc. And those people get so caught up in those things that they do not have time to live life. They forget about their dreams and the beauty of the world around them. They lose touch with that amazing part of themselves that makes us unique.

It is like we have to conform to the strict standards of society, stamp out our creativity and awe of the world, conform to the mold, take our place in the box, and go through life like a drone. You wake up, go to work, put all your energy into your job, go home, watch t.v. and go to bed. The weekends are for chores and maybe, if you are lucky, a bit of free time. Rinse, repeat.

Is that all you really want from life? Is there a better way? Do you really have to sell your soul? These are questions that I would like to explore over the course of my contract. I personally believe that we can all contribute to society in a positive way without "selling our souls". And to prove it I am going to sell my soul, but for the right reasons. I am going to sell my soul to improve my life, to be happy, but most importantly to serve a greater cause than "I" or "me". I am going to take a large portion of the money that is donated to this site and start a foundation that will help address issues of depression in our society.
